The mission of Certified Diabetic Services is to profitably
distribute quality medical supplies and provide highly-personalized customer service
to those living with diabetes. We strive to be the predominant diabetic supply provider
and to set a new standard by which others are judged.
In 1995, The co-founders of CDS - both of them individuals with Type 1 diabetes,
became frustrated at how cumbersome it was to perform their regular blood glucose testing. Even though they
understood how important the testing regimen was in slowing or preventing the complications
associated with diabetes, they knew there should be a better way than the frequent trips to the pharmacy, out-of-pocket expenditures,
completing insurance forms and then waiting for reimbursement checks for their supplies.
Unable to find better options, they developed the concept that is now Certified Diabetes Services.
The concept is simple but effective - providing a comprehensive, convenient and service-oriented
diabetes supply capability with an emphasis on diabetes education and self management.
Today, CDS helps thousands of individuals manage their diabetes and their health through a three-pronged approach:
- Convenience: CDS ships testing supplies via priority mail to each member, eliminating time-consuming trips to
the pharmacy and the need to pay out-of-pocket, file forms and wait for reimbursement.
- Education for better diabetes management: CDS provides ADA-recognized diabetes education
programs in various parts of the country. In addition, helpful information is sent in quarterly
newsletters and available on the web site.
- Personal support and service: Diabetes support specialists are available to answer members’
questions, assist with insurance issues and refer to certified diabetes educators for information
on specific health issues.
